Labour Day Edition – A New Chapter Begins

Design Clarity Weekly

Helping Design Professionals Streamline, Simplify & Succeed

Hey Lovely!

Happy Labour Day! 🍂

September has always felt like the true “fresh start” of the year. This one feels especially different for me—I’ve just stepped into empty nest life (at least for a few months!) and begun writing this next chapter. I firmly believe in designing my life and business with the same intention I bring to a client’s home: every choice should reflect purpose, ease, and vision.

This past year, my work with other designers has been monumental. Some scaled into teams and opened offices, others built thriving solo businesses after sending their kids off to university—booked solid through year’s end. It’s proof that when you design your business with intention, clarity follows. September is the perfect time to pause, audit, and reset—and I’m here to support you in doing just that.

Tips, Tools & Takeaways for Designers

3 Tips to Step Into Your Next Chapter

Audit Your Workflows – Are your systems still serving you? Clear out what no longer fits.

Reassess Your Boundaries – Protect your creative energy by setting clear client and project guardrails.

Evaluate Your Goals – Are you working toward what you actually want, or what you think you “should” want?

2 Resources to Support You

📌 ½-Day VIP Session – A focused reset to evaluate your systems, refine your workflows, and get clarity.

Best for: Designers who want clarity now—whether you’re feeling stuck in a messy backend, unsure about your client process, or simply need a fresh set of eyes on your systems.
What to expect: In a focused three-hour session, we’ll map out your workflows, identify gaps, and create an actionable plan. You’ll leave with practical next steps and confidence that your business is set up to support you, not drain you.

Ongoing Virtual Support – From 5 to 10+ hours a week, I’ll run your backend so your clients see a seamless, well-oiled machine while you focus on design.

Best for: Designers who know what they want their business to look like, but don’t have the time (or desire) to manage all the behind-the-scenes tasks. Ideal if you want to focus on the creative side—designing, serving clients, building relationships—without worrying about whether the wheels are falling off in the background.
What to expect: Flexible monthly packages starting at 5 hours/week. I’ll handle your project management, proposals, onboarding, and backend systems so your clients experience a seamless, well-oiled machine. You get to show up as the creative lead in your business—energized and supported.

1 Question for You

🤔 What’s one area of your business you’d like to simplify this fall so you can step more fully into the creative role you love?

Want More Support?

As we step into September, remember—you get to design your business just like you’d design a home: with purpose, clarity, and a vision for how you want to live and work. Whether you need a one-time reset or ongoing support, I’m here to help you create a business that feels aligned, sustainable, and spacious.

Here’s to new chapters, fresh energy, and a season of ease,

Warmly,
Marsha

Design Clarity Weekly Helping Design Professionals Streamline, Simplify & Succeed Hey Lovely! In my early years of business, I fell hard into the feast and famine cycle. I’d pour myself into client projects, disappear from marketing while I was busy, and then panic when the projects wrapped and the phone was quiet. I learned the hard way that consistency—not hustle—is what keeps the work flowing. Today, I show up for my clients in ways that plant seeds for the future, and I keep a steady...

Design Clarity Weekly Helping Design Professionals Streamline, Simplify & Succeed Hey Lovely! There are a lot of moving parts in our design business. Mishaps will happen—it’s inevitable. What sets you apart isn’t whether everything always goes perfectly (spoiler: it won’t), but how you respond. The way we treat our vendors, trades, and clients in those moments says more about us than the wins. Strong, respectful, solution-oriented relationships are the foundation of a business that grows with...

Design Clarity Weekly Helping Design Professionals Streamline, Simplify & Succeed Hey Lovely! I’ve become much more intentional with my mornings. For years, I dove straight into work—coffee in hand, inbox open, and already chasing the day. Recently, I started delaying my workday by just one hour (gasp- guess what the world did not come to an end), and the difference has been remarkable. That small shift has created space for clarity: time to stretch, journal, check in with my priorities, and...
